Monthly versus yearly
The yearly CapCut Pro price of USD 179.99 is about USD 15 a month, or USD 59.89 less than twelve monthly payments of USD 19.99 (USD 239.88; our arithmetic). Ultra is USD 900 a year against USD 948 paid monthly. The page advertised “up to 40% off” on monthly and “up to 30% off” on yearly at the time; those are promotions and the discount for your account is shown at checkout.
Why your CapCut Pro price may differ
CapCut’s help article on what CapCut Pro costs says the price “can vary depending on your region, device, and available promotions” rather than being one global price. To see your own CapCut Pro price, sign in on the web and click Upgrade, open the desktop app and pick the Pro plan, or in the mobile app go to Me and tap Join CapCut Pro. App store purchases may also be priced differently from the web; we have not compared them (unverified).
What CapCut Pro includes
The Pro card lists 1,200 monthly AI credits, the option to buy more credits, access to AI features, all premium templates, all premium Pro features and 1 TB of storage. For AI video it quotes Seedance 2.5 from USD 0.12 a second and Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p from USD 0.007 a second in the first month, and says Pro can generate up to 240 seconds at 720p or 600 seconds at 480p with Seedance 2.0 Mini. Ultra raises the credits to 8,645 a month and adds exclusive AI features. Teams gives each seat Pro features and 1,200 credits, plus a brand kit.
CapCut Free: watermark and commercial use
The Free plan lists free templates and basic editing tools, with no monthly AI credits. CapCut’s own commercial video maker page says videos export at resolutions like 1080p or 2160p “all watermark-free”. On commercial use, the CapCut Trust Center says you own what you create, and that only templates and materials expressly labelled “Commercial Use” may be used for commercial purposes, so check the label on any template, music or sticker before using it in an ad. Is CapCut Pro worth the price?
For editing alone, the free plan covers cutting, trimming, captions with free assets and templates. CapCut Pro is worth its price if you need premium templates and effects, the 1 TB of storage, or AI generation credits.
