The HeyGen free plan

The Free plan is for trying the editor. It allows 3 watermarked videos a month, each up to 1 minute long, with access to Avatar IV and Video Agent, one custom video avatar and more than 500 stock presenters in 30+ languages. Motion and gesture control is limited to 3 uses a month. It is enough to see whether an avatar looks right for your brand; it is not enough to publish regularly. See how it compares with Kling AI, Runway and CapCut in our AI video free plans comparison.

Creator versus Pro

Creator is the plan for individuals who publish. For $29 a month it adds 600 credits, 1080p export, branding removal, a custom video avatar with your own voice and likeness, 175+ languages and dialects, and videos up to 30 minutes. Motion and gesture control rises to 20 uses a month.

Pro starts at $49 a month for 1,000 credits and adds 4K export, faster processing, translation-script proofreading and what HeyGen calls Pro-only features: access to Seedance 2.0, VEO 3.1 and Nano Banana for video and image generation, and Cinematic Avatars placed in prompted scenes. All Pro tiers share the same features; only the credit allowance changes, from 1,000 credits at $49 up to 100,000 credits at $4,300 a month.

The deciding question is resolution and volume. If 1080p is enough and 600 credits cover your month, Creator is the cheaper plan. If you deliver 4K or want the third-party models inside HeyGen, Pro is the entry point.

Business and Enterprise

Business costs $149 a month with 1,500 credits, plus $20 per additional seat per month. It adds a shared workspace, videos up to 60 minutes, twice Pro’s concurrency, five custom avatars with Avatar V, SAML/SSO, a brand kit, SCORM export for learning platforms and integrations with n8n, Make, HubSpot and Zapier. Business users can buy one-time credit packs or enable auto-reload. Enterprise removes the length limit and adds SCIM provisioning, multi-workspace control, invoice billing and a customer success manager, at a price set by sales.

How HeyGen credits work

Credits are HeyGen’s single currency for video and asset creation. The number a video uses depends on the model, the duration and the complexity of the generation; the pricing page does not publish a per-minute table. Monthly subscribers’ unused credits roll over for one more month, annual subscribers’ credits accumulate until renewal, and credits expire when a subscription ends. To get more, Creator and Pro users upgrade to a larger plan or tier; Business users can buy packs.

Because the per-minute rate is not published, run one representative script on the plan you are considering and note the credits it used before you commit to annual billing. That single number turns the plan price into a cost per finished minute you can compare with other tools in the AI video pricing tracker.

Switching and cancelling

According to the FAQ, upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing, while downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the billing cycle. After cancellation the account moves to the Free plan and unused credits do not carry over. Support is reachable at Support@heygen.com.
