Kling AI pricing: what you pay after the first month

Kling AI advertises low first-month prices. The number that matters for a budget is the renewal price printed in smaller type under each card. Here are both, as we read them on October 21, 2026.

Source: Kling AI membership page, monthly tab, checked October 21, 2026. The page shows Premier at its 18K size by default; prices for the 8K, 28K and 38K sizes and all yearly prices (the yearly tab advertises up to 40% off) are unverified here. Kling’s own blog listed Premier 8K at a $80.96 renewal on July 28, 2026; treat that as a dated reference, not today’s price.

First month versus renewal

Every paid card leads with a first-month price next to a struck-through list price: Standard shows $6.99 against $10, Pro $25.99 against $37, Premier 18K $135 against $207 and Ultra+ $402 against $619. Underneath, each card says what you pay next: “Then $8.8/month” for Standard and “Then $32.56/month” for Pro. The page notes the first-purchase offer is available once and that monthly subscriptions can be cancelled anytime.

For a twelve-month budget on Standard that means one month at $6.99 and eleven at $8.80, or $103.79 before tax (our arithmetic). Using $6.99 as the monthly cost would understate the year by about 19%.

The free Basic plan

Basic is free forever, but the plan table lists no monthly credits for it. The benefits that matter for publishing are all marked for paid plans: 1080p/4K generation, video extension, brand watermark removal, multiple videos per generation and commercial use of generated content. Daily free credits are listed as a subscriber benefit. Kling’s credit policy says promotional credits follow whatever the product page and event notice say at the time, so the number of free credits a Basic account gets is unverified and can change. For a full comparison of free tiers, including what “kling ai free” really gets you, see AI video free plans compared.

How Kling credits work

Credits come in three kinds, according to Kling’s credits policy. Subscription credits are issued monthly and are valid for one month. Purchased credits cost $1 per 66 credits at the standard rate and are valid for two years. Promotional and login credits follow event rules. Credits with the shortest validity are spent first, and a failed generation refunds its credits.

How many credits a clip costs depends on model, mode, duration and resolution. Kling’s July 2026 blog post gave 30 credits per second as the planning figure for native 4K output on the Kling 3.0 series and described Standard’s 660 credits as roughly 33 videos at 720p. The live generation panel is the authority; confirm the rate there before you budget a large project.

Which Kling plan to choose

  • Testing prompts: Basic, accepting the watermark and the non-commercial limit.
  • Occasional client or social work: Standard. It is the cheapest plan with watermark removal and commercial use.
  • Weekly production: Pro, which costs less per credit and adds priority access to new features.
  • Studios: Premier or Ultra+, where Kling’s stated price per 100 credits falls to $0.75 and $0.71.
