Before you cancel
- Download the clips you want to keep. The cancellation screen warns that projects will not be accessible after 3 days.
- Use or note your remaining credits. They keep their original expiry date, so you can still use them until then.
- Check how you pay. Web subscriptions are cancelled in Opus Clip; App Store subscriptions are cancelled through Apple.
- Disconnect automations such as Zapier or API jobs, which will stop working when the paid plan ends.
Cancel on the web
- Sign in to Opus Clip and open your profile menu.
- Click Subscription in the drop-down.
- Click Manage plan.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Cancel subscription.
- Click Continue to cancel to confirm.
The help center says changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle, so you keep paid features until then. Opus Clip shows a reminder of what you lose, including watermark-free exports and the Virality Score; that screen is informational and does not change the outcome.
Cancel an App Store subscription
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap your Apple ID / Apple Account name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions and choose OpusClip.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
The subscription stays active until the end of the current billing cycle. Refunds for App Store purchases are processed by Apple through its report-a-problem page, not by Opus Clip.
What happens after you cancel
- Billing: no further renewals; paid features continue to the end of the cycle.
- Credits: remaining credits expire on their original date. Monthly credits are valid for 60 days; annual credits for 12 months.
- Projects: the cancel flow warns they become inaccessible after 3 days, so download first.
- Watermark: any new free-plan exports will carry the OpusClip watermark again.
- Integrations: Zapier workflows stop when the Pro plan expires, per the Zapier help article.
There is no pause option. If you expect to come back, cancelling and resubscribing later is the documented route.
Downgrade instead of cancelling
If the issue is cost rather than the tool, a downgrade may be enough:
- Pro to Starter ($29 to $15 a month): use Manage plan on the Subscription page; it takes effect at the end of the current cycle. This only works from Pro monthly; on Pro yearly you must cancel and then subscribe to Starter.
- Fewer packs: if you bought more than one Pro pack, use “Add or remove packs/seats”; the change applies at the end of the cycle.
- To Free: allowed only if you have fewer than 30 credits left, and the change is immediate, so you lose paid features at once. With more credits left, cancel instead.

If you are cancelling because of results
Cancelling because clips needed too much fixing is a reasonable decision, but record why before you go: which videos failed, what was wrong (cuts, captions, framing) and roughly how long repairs took. That log makes the next trial faster, because you can test a replacement on the same source and see whether it fixes your specific problem. Our Opus Clip review lists what we measure, and the best AI clip makers page groups tools by the job they suit.
Cancelling a free trial
You do not need to. The help center says a free trial cannot be paused and converts to the Free Forever plan automatically after 7 days. Because the trial does not require a card in the countries Opus Clip fully serves, there is usually nothing to cancel. Check your account’s subscription page if you did enter payment details.
Deleting your account
Account deletion is a separate step from your profile page, and the help center warns that an active subscription prevents deletion. Cancel first, wait for the subscription to end, then delete. Download anything you want to keep before you do; deletion is not a way to get a refund.
Frequently asked questions
How do I cancel my Opus Clip subscription?
On the web, open your profile menu, choose Subscription, click Manage plan, then Cancel subscription and Continue to cancel. If you subscribed in the iOS app, cancel in your iPhone’s Settings under your Apple ID and Subscriptions.
Can I pause my Opus Clip subscription?
No. The help center says pausing is not offered. You can cancel and start a new subscription when you come back.
Do I keep my credits after cancelling Opus Clip?
According to the help center, remaining credits expire at their original expiration date, even if that is after your billing cycle ends.
Can I get a refund from Opus Clip?
For App Store purchases, refunds are handled by Apple. For web subscriptions we did not find a refund policy in the help articles we read; contact Opus Clip support. Separately, Pro users can refund a single project’s credits within 14 days if no clip was downloaded.
