How to remove the Opus Clip watermark, the legitimate way

The watermark is tied to your plan, not to the clip. That makes removal simple and, if you plan it, cheap. Here is how it works and what to avoid.

Short answer

Upgrade to any paid Opus Clip plan (Starter, $15 a month, is the cheapest), then download your clips again. The help center states that upgrading removes the watermark automatically from projects you created on the Free plan or during the free trial, so you do not have to reprocess them or spend credits twice.

Which clips have a watermark

Two kinds of account add the OpusClip brand-logo watermark:

  • Free plan. The pricing page lists “Has watermark” for Free, alongside 60 monthly credits, up to 1080p rendering and a 3-day export window.
  • Free trial. The trial unlocks most Pro features, but the help center lists watermarked exports among the features trial users do not get.

Starter, Pro and Business all list watermark-free export.

Remove it by upgrading

  1. Open your profile menu and go to Subscription.
  2. Choose Starter (monthly only) or Pro (monthly or annual) and complete checkout.
  3. Return to your projects. Free and trial projects should now show without the watermark.

If you only want watermark-free versions of clips you already made, Starter is enough. If you also need 16:9 or 1:1 formats, scheduling or exports to Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, compare Pro in Opus Clip pricing.

Re-export your clips

The watermark is burned into files you already downloaded, so those copies stay watermarked. After upgrading, download the clips again from the project. Mind the export windows: Free clips stop being exportable 3 days after processing, so a clip you made two weeks ago on Free may need to be processed again. Starter extends the export window to 30 days and Pro removes the limit.

If the window has closed, reprocessing costs credits again (1 per source minute). Use the processing-timeframe slider to send only the section that contained the clip you want.

The cheapest way to get watermark-free clips

  1. Use the Free plan or trial to find which videos produce clips you would post.
  2. Process those videos and keep the projects inside their export window.
  3. Upgrade to Starter for one month and download everything watermark-free.
  4. Process the rest of the month’s recordings on Starter’s 150 credits.
  5. Decide at the end of the month whether to stay, change plan or cancel; our cancellation guide covers the steps.

Check the export before you post

After upgrading and re-downloading, open one file locally before you schedule anything. Confirm the logo is gone from the first and last seconds, where branding is usually placed, and that the resolution is what you expect: Free renders up to 1080p, while paid plans export at the highest resolution available. If a clip still shows the watermark, it is probably a copy downloaded before the upgrade; delete it from your upload folder so it cannot be posted by mistake. Teams should agree on one folder for approved, watermark-free exports, so that nobody publishes an old draft.

Why we do not recommend watermark removers

Searches for an “Opus Clip watermark remover” lead to AI inpainting tools, crop tricks and blur filters. We do not recommend them:

  • Quality. Inpainting leaves smudges that are more distracting than a logo, especially over moving subjects and captions.
  • Framing. Cropping undoes the reframing the tool just did and can cut off captions or faces.
  • Terms. Stripping a vendor’s branding from free-tier output may conflict with its terms of use, and some platforms treat tampered content poorly.
  • Cost. A month of Starter costs less than the time spent cleaning a handful of clips frame by frame.

If you need free watermark-free clips

If paying is not an option, look at tools whose free plan suits your use, and check their watermark rules on the day you sign up. Free tiers we found are listed in free Opus Clip alternatives and compared in our alternatives guide. Most free clipping tiers add a watermark or limit resolution, so read the terms rather than assuming.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove the Opus Clip watermark?

Upgrade to a paid plan. The Opus Clip help center says the watermark appears on Free plan and free trial clips and is removed automatically from those projects when you upgrade. Then download the clips again.

Does Opus Clip Starter have a watermark?

No. On October 11, 2026 the pricing page listed watermark-free export on Starter, Pro and Business. Only the Free plan and the free trial add the watermark.

Is there a free Opus Clip watermark remover?

There is no supported free method. Third-party removers, cropping or blurring the logo degrade the clip and may conflict with the vendor’s terms. A month of Starter is the legitimate route.

Do I need to reprocess videos after upgrading?

No. According to the help center, upgrading removes the watermark from your existing Free plan and free trial projects, so you can export them again without spending new credits on processing.
