Pictory pricing: what each plan costs per month, per credit and per minute

Pictory turns scripts, articles, slides and recordings into videos, and since its credit update it sells every plan as a pool of AI credits. Here is what Starter, Professional and Teams cost on monthly and annual billing, what the credits buy, and what that works out to per credit and per minute, as read on Pictory’s own pricing page and help center on October 23, 2026. This is a pricing-page review, not a hands-on test.

Pictory plans at a glance

Pictory pricing has three self-serve plans, Starter, Professional and Teams, plus Enterprise with custom pricing through sales. Every plan comes with a pool of AI credits, and the pricing page converts each pool into a number of video minutes.

Source: Pictory pricing, read in a rendered browser on October 23, 2026 with the billing toggle on Monthly and on Annually. The page defaults to Annually, where the cards show the monthly price as “Was $29”, “Was $59” and “Was $199”.

The Pictory pricing page says “Annual plans grant all credits upfront”, so an annual Starter subscriber receives 24,000 credits at the start of the year rather than 2,000 a month. The minute figures are Pictory’s own estimates (“Up to”); the page does not say which mix of features they assume, and the per-feature credit rates below show that the real number of minutes depends heavily on what you generate.

The cards do not say whether the Teams price covers a fixed number of seats or is charged per seat. The card says “3+ users”; if you need more than three people, confirm the seat price at checkout before you pay.

Monthly vs annual billing

The pricing page says annual billing lets you “Save up to 40%”. Here is what that means for each plan:

Pictory annual savings (our arithmetic from the prices shown on October 23, 2026)
Plan12 × monthly priceAnnual (12 × $/mo shown)SavingDiscount
Starter$348$300$48About 14%
Professional$708$420$288About 41%
Teams$2,388$1,428$960About 40%

The big discount only applies to Professional and Teams. On Starter, annual billing saves about 14%, so Starter is the plan where monthly billing costs you least extra. Pictory also says annual plans include a consultation with its video-creation expert, which it values at $210.

One older help article, last updated in June 2025, still says annual billing saves “up to 24%”. That figure does not match the current pricing page, so we quote the pricing page and treat the help article as out of date.

What each Pictory plan includes

Pictory says every plan has the same AI video toolkit, including the AI video agent, AI Scene editor, AI Studio images and video, all AI models, automatic subtitles, AI voices and translation, Storyblocks and Getty media, and stock avatars. The plans differ in credits, users, brand kits, storage and limits:

  • Starter ($29, or $25 billed annually): 1 user, 1 brand kit, stock avatars, and unlimited access to 5 million+ royalty-free videos from Getty Images and Storyblocks.
  • Professional ($59, or $35 billed annually): everything in Starter plus cloned avatars, voice clones, custom brand fonts, unlimited standard voices, 5 brand kits and 18 million+ stock videos. The card also lists “3x more” multilingual ElevenLabs voices and “3x more” avatar usage.
  • Teams ($199, or $119 billed annually): everything in Professional plus 3+ users, shared brand assets, sharing and collaboration, onboarding and training, and 10 brand kits.
  • Enterprise (custom): everything in Teams plus SSO, custom-built templates, a dedicated account manager, AI-generated chapters, clickable CTAs and links, SCORM export for LMS, Pictory Central hosting, priority support, and quizzes and knowledge checks.

One quirk worth noticing: the comparison table lists automatic video summary as included in the free trial, Professional and Teams, but “Not included” on Starter. If you plan to condense long recordings into short summaries, that alone points to Professional.

How Pictory AI credits work

Pictory calls credits “the shared currency across all AI usage-based features”. According to its help center, credits pay for generative AI images, generative AI video and AI avatars. Features such as PPT content extraction, Smart Templates, transcription and Copilot are not charged in credits and stay part of the base plan, and the ElevenLabs voiceover quota is tracked separately.

Sources: video and image rates appear on both the pricing page and the Understanding AI Credits help article; avatar rates are from the help article only. The help article says avatar credits are charged on the duration of the entire video.

Rollover: the help center says credits are granted on the day your subscription starts or renews, that unused credits roll over to the next cycle, and that purchased credits never expire as long as you have an active subscription. That is more generous than tools whose monthly credits reset, but it also means credits are tied to staying subscribed.

Teams: credits are pooled at the workspace level, so any member can spend from the shared balance.

Pictory cost per credit and per minute

Because each plan sells a fixed credit pool, the cost per credit is easy to compare. These are our calculations from the list prices above:

Pictory cost per 1,000 credits and per Pictory “minute” (our arithmetic)
PlanPer 1,000 credits, monthlyPer 1,000 credits, annualPer estimated minute, monthlyPer estimated minute, annual
Starter$14.50$12.50$0.97$0.83
Professional$9.83$5.83$0.66$0.39
Teams$11.06$6.61$0.66$0.40

Professional on annual billing is the cheapest source of Pictory credits per dollar, cheaper than Teams. Teams costs more per credit because you are also paying for users, collaboration and priority support.

The “per minute” column uses Pictory’s own “Up to” minute estimates, which work out to roughly 67 credits per minute on Starter and Professional and 60 on Teams. Real usage can be very different. At the published rates, Starter’s 2,000 monthly credits buy about 50 seconds of Veo 3.1 video with audio (40 credits a second), about 133 seconds of Veo 3.1 Fast with audio, or roughly 28 minutes of custom-avatar video (our arithmetic). The help center lists credits as paying for generative images, generative video and avatars, so if you mostly assemble videos from stock footage and voiceover, the credit pool may matter less; Pictory does not spell out what its minute estimates assume.

These are upper bounds from list prices, not measured results. We have not run Pictory projects for this page.

Extra credit packs

Paid subscribers can buy more credits; the help center says free users cannot. There are recurring monthly packs and one-time prepaid packs:

Pictory credit add-ons, from the help center, checked October 23, 2026
PackRecurring monthly priceOne-time pricePer 1,000 credits (our arithmetic)
500 credits$25$25$50.00
1,000 credits$49Not offered$49.00
1,500 credits$70$70$46.67
3,000 credits$135$135$45.00
5,000 credits$199Not offered$39.80

Add-on credits cost roughly three to nine times as much per credit as credits bought inside a plan ($5.83 to $14.50 per 1,000). If you regularly run out, moving up a plan is usually cheaper than buying packs. The help center says recurring pack upgrades apply immediately with a prorated charge, downgrades apply at the end of the billing cycle, and it mentions discounts on yearly plans without giving a figure.

Is Pictory free?

Not as a plan. Pictory offers a 14-day free trial. The comparison table lists the trial with 300 credits (“Up to 10 mins”), 3 videos, videos from a script or URL up to 5 minutes, 720p export, 500 MB of storage and Pictory branding on exports. Pictory’s FAQ says that after the trial you can still access your account but cannot download videos without a paid subscription.

The trial is a way to check output quality and the editor on your own scripts, not a way to publish for free. For tools with a free plan you can keep using, see AI video free plans.

Pictory API pricing

API access is “Not included” on the free trial, Starter, Professional or Teams; the comparison table says the Pictory API has its own plans. The API pricing page listed two on October 23, 2026:

  • API Self-Serve: $79 per month, billed annually, with 7,200 video minutes a year that include 1,440 ElevenLabs voiceover minutes, unlimited brand kits and 18 million Getty Images and Storyblocks videos. Pictory pitches it at automation services such as Make.com, Zapier and n8n.
  • API for Enterprises: custom pricing with a one-time setup fee and actual video minutes used billed monthly, plus three months of onboarding and integration support.

The API page still describes allowances in minutes, while the help center says API customers receive AI credits under the same rollover rules as web plans. We could not find how the two map to each other, so check with Pictory before you plan API volume.

Renewal, pausing and cancelling

  • Auto-renewal: all plans renew automatically. You turn it off under your name → My account → Billing → Cancel.
  • If you do not renew: the auto-renewal article says you lose access to the projects you created on that account.
  • Pausing: the cancellation flow offers a pause at $1 a month that keeps your account and project data. For monthly subscriptions the pause lasts 90 days, then the plan reactivates unless you change it.
  • Cancelling: an older help article (June 2025) says you keep access until the end of your subscription term. Upgrades are immediate and downgrades take effect at the end of the billing cycle.
  • Discounts: Pictory’s FAQ says it offers discounts for educators, non-profits and teams on request; no figure is published.

Sources: Pictory Help: auto-renewal, pausing, cancelling, subscriptions FAQ and pricing FAQ, read October 23, 2026. We did not find a refund policy in the articles we read, so we do not describe one.

Which Pictory plan to choose

  • Occasional script-to-video or blog-to-video work, one person: Starter. Annual billing saves only about 14% on this plan, so starting monthly costs little extra.
  • Regular production, voice clones, a custom avatar or video summaries: Professional. Billed annually it is the cheapest credit source at $5.83 per 1,000 credits.
  • Three or more people sharing brand assets: Teams. Check the seat price at checkout.
  • Automation from your own software: one of the API plans, since the web plans exclude API access.
  • SSO, SCORM export or LMS delivery: Enterprise.

Pictory pricing against other AI video tools

Pictory sits between script-to-video editors and generative video tools. The closest comparison is Invideo AI pricing, which also turns prompts and scripts into finished videos with one credit balance. For avatar presenters, compare Synthesia pricing and HeyGen pricing. Pictory resells Veo 3.1 shots through its credits, so Veo pricing shows what the same model costs from Google directly. If you mostly edit recordings by transcript, Descript pricing is the better reference. For every tool side by side, use the AI video pricing tracker, or start from the use case with the AI video generator picker.

How we checked these prices

We read Pictory’s pricing page on October 23, 2026 in a rendered browser, with the billing toggle set to Monthly and to Annually, read the API pricing page, and read the Pictory help-center articles listed in the sources the same day. Where a help article is older than the pricing page and disagrees with it (the annual saving), we quote the pricing page. Annual totals, per-credit and per-minute figures are our arithmetic from the published prices. We have not bought a Pictory plan or run test projects for this page, nobody paid for inclusion, and there are no affiliate links. Prices change, so check Pictory’s pricing page before you buy.
