Adobe Firefly pricing: plans, credits and what a second of video costs

Adobe Firefly sells four monthly plans on top of a free tier, and every plan is measured in generative credits. Here is what each plan costs, what Adobe says its credits buy, and how far they go once you generate video, as read on Adobe’s own pages on October 23, 2026.

Every paid plan includes unlimited access to standard image features such as Generative Fill, access to premium features such as Text to Video and Generate Speech paid for with credits, partner models in Firefly (Adobe names Google, OpenAI and Flux), unlimited Firefly Boards, and Adobe Fonts and tutorials. Adobe’s FAQ says all paid plans include unlimited standard image and vector generations, and that credits are spent on premium features such as video, audio and partner-model outputs.

What each plan’s credits buy

Adobe translates each credit allowance into rough output numbers on the plans page. These are Adobe’s own “up to” figures, not guarantees: what you actually get depends on the model, resolution and length you choose.

Per dollar, the three lower plans are priced the same: $9.99 for 2,000, $19.99 for 4,000 and $49.99 for 10,000 credits all work out to about $0.50 per 100 credits. Premium drops to about $0.40 per 100 credits (our arithmetic from Adobe’s list prices). So the step up from Standard to Pro mainly buys more credits plus Photoshop on web and mobile and Express Premium, not cheaper credits.

Adobe Firefly video pricing per second

The “up to 20 five-second videos” on Standard is the best case. Adobe’s generative credits FAQ prices Generate Video by resolution, and the figure only works out at the lowest one.

Generate Video credit cost and what Standard’s 2,000 credits cover
Output (24 fps)Credits per second (Adobe)5-second clipClips from 2,000 creditsClips from 4,000 credits

Credit rates from the Adobe generative credits FAQ, checked October 23, 2026. Clip counts are our arithmetic and assume the Firefly Video Model; partner models are priced separately.

At Standard’s rate of about $0.50 per 100 credits, one second of 1080p Firefly video costs about $0.50, and a five-second 1080p clip about $2.50 (our arithmetic). If you plan to publish in 1080p, budget against the 1080p row, not Adobe’s headline clip count.

Other credit rates Adobe lists in the same FAQ:

  • Generative Extend in Premiere: 175 credits per second at 4K 30 fps, 125 at 1080p 30 fps, 75 at 720p 30 fps; 150, 100 and 50 credits per second at 4K, 1080p and 720p 24 fps.
  • Translate Video and Translate Audio: 5 credits per second. Translate and Lip Sync costs 15 credits per second at 4K and 10 at 1080p, and Adobe says it is available only on select Creative Cloud for enterprise plans.
  • Text to Avatar (beta): 10 credits per second, up to 1080p.
  • Generate Sound Effects: 10 credits per generation. Generate Music: 20 credits per minute.
  • Generate Speech: 10 credits per 1,000 characters with Firefly Speech, 15 with ElevenLabs Multilingual v2.
  • Images: Firefly Image 4 Ultra 20 credits per generation, Firefly Image 5 10 credits per generation.
  • Partner models (Google, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Topaz and others) count as premium features, and the cost varies by model.

The free Adobe Firefly plan

Adobe’s plans page says you do not need a plan to get free daily generations across image, video and audio, with access to popular models like Nano Banana and Luma Ray3.14, and that limits refresh every day. Adobe does not print a daily number on that page, and its help center says the number of generations, features and models is subject to change. We have not verified a specific daily allowance, so we do not quote one.

The help center adds two rules. Free-plan generative credits are allocated the first time you use a Firefly feature and expire one month after allocation. And Creative Cloud plans without premium generative access currently get complimentary tries of premium features, which Adobe gives as an example of 2 video generations and 40 seconds of video and audio translation. To compare Firefly’s free tier with the free plans of Kling, Runway, HeyGen and CapCut, see AI video free plans compared.

How generative credits work

  • Monthly reset, no rollover: paid-plan credits renew on your billing date and unused credits do not carry over.
  • Shared across apps: Adobe says Firefly plan credits can be used for generative AI features in Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom and Adobe Express as well as the Firefly web and mobile apps.
  • Running out: paid plans keep unlimited standard generative features after credits are used up. You can wait for the reset, upgrade, or add credits, and Adobe says it will not charge for extra credits unless you buy them.
  • Commercial use: Adobe says outputs from Firefly’s own models are safe for commercial use and carry Content Credentials. For partner-model output, Adobe says you are responsible for deciding whether it is appropriate for your project.

Credit add-ons and teams

Paid Creative Cloud and Firefly members can buy a monthly credit add-on plan on top of their subscription.

The 7,000-credit add-on is the cheapest per credit below Premium. For teams, the Business tab lists Firefly Pro for teams at US$19.99, Pro Plus for teams at US$49.99 and Premium for teams at US$199.99 per license a month, on an annual plan billed monthly, with the same credit amounts as the individual plans plus admin tools and 24x7 support. Adobe’s FAQ also notes that Creative Cloud Pro, at US$69.99 a month, includes 4,000 Firefly credits and 20+ Creative Cloud apps.

Which Adobe Firefly plan to choose

  • Images and the odd test clip: the free plan, or Standard if you want unlimited standard image generation.
  • Occasional 1080p video: Standard covers about 20 seconds of 1080p Firefly video a month (our arithmetic). Pro doubles that and adds Photoshop and Express Premium.
  • Regular video or translation work: Pro Plus, or Pro with a 7,000-credit add-on if you only need extra credits some months.
  • High-volume video: Premium, the only plan with unlimited Firefly Video Model generations in Generate Video. Partner models still use credits.
  • Already paying for Creative Cloud: check your plan’s included credits first; Creative Cloud Pro already includes 4,000.

Adobe Firefly against other AI video tools

Firefly’s advantage is that one credit pool covers images, video, audio and Adobe’s desktop apps. Single-purpose video generators can be cheaper per second. Compare Kling AI pricing and Runway pricing for generated shots, or Veo pricing for Google’s own model. Multi-model studios are covered in Higgsfield AI pricing. Yes, in a limited way. Adobe says you do not need a plan to get free daily generations across image, video and audio, with access to models such as Nano Banana and Luma Ray3.14. Limits refresh every day, and Adobe says the number of generations, features and models is subject to change.

What happens when I run out of Firefly credits?
