Short answer
- Seedance 2.0: about $0.35 for a 5-second 480p video, $0.76 at 720p, $1.87 at 1080p and $3.89 in 4K.
- Seedance 2.5: the newest model, about $0.51 at 480p, $1.16 at 720p and $2.84 at 1080p for 5 seconds. No 4K.
- Cheaper versions: Seedance 2.0 Fast from $0.28 and Seedance 2.0 Mini from $0.18 for 5 seconds at 480p, both limited to 480p and 720p.
- How you pay: by the token on BytePlus ModelArk, from an account balance or prepaid resource packs that expire after 90 days.
- Not a subscription: there is no monthly Seedance plan on BytePlus. Monthly plans come from apps such as CapCut, invideo and Higgsfield that include Seedance.
Seedance price per video
BytePlus publishes price examples for a 5-second, 16:9 video made from a text or image prompt, with no video in the input. This is the Seedance pricing most people need:
| Model | 480p | 720p | 1080p | 4K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5 | $0.514 ($0.103/s) | $1.156 ($0.231/s) | $2.843 ($0.569/s) | Not listed |
| Seedance 2.0 | $0.35 ($0.07/s) | $0.76 ($0.15/s) | $1.87 ($0.37/s) | $3.89 ($0.78/s) |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast | $0.28 ($0.06/s) | $0.60 ($0.12/s) | Not supported | Not supported |
| Seedance 2.0 Mini | $0.18 ($0.04/s) | $0.38 ($0.08/s) | Not supported | Not supported |
| Seedance 1.5 Pro (with audio) | $0.12 | $0.26 | $0.58 | Not listed |
| Seedance 1.5 Pro (silent) | $0.06 | $0.13 | $0.29 | Not listed |
| Seedance 1.0 Pro | $0.12 | $0.26 | $0.61 | Not listed |
| Seedance 1.0 Pro Fast | $0.05 | $0.10 | $0.24 | Not listed |
The full product names are Dreamina Seedance 2.5 and Dreamina Seedance 2.0. Seedance 1.5 Pro also has a cheaper Draft mode at 480p: $0.07 for a 5-second video with audio and $0.04 silent. For Seedance 1.0 Pro and 1.0 Pro Fast, BytePlus lists the 1080p 16:9 frame as 1920×1088 at 24 frames a second, and 10-second clips cost about twice as much as 5-second ones (for example $1.22 for 10 seconds of 1080p on 1.0 Pro).
In practice, a minute of finished Seedance 2.0 video at 1080p is twelve 5-second clips, about $22.44 before any retries, by our multiplication of the $1.87 example. The same minute on Seedance 2.0 Fast at 720p is about $7.20, and on Seedance 2.5 at 1080p about $34.12.
Price when you give it a video
Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 can also take a video as input, for edits, extensions or reference. That costs more per clip because the input seconds count towards token use, even though the token rate is lower. BytePlus gives ranges for a 5-second 16:9 output:
| Model | Input video length | 480p | 720p | 1080p | 4K |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5 | 2 to 30 s | $0.553 to $2.152 | $1.244 to $4.838 | $3.062 to $11.907 | Not listed |
| Seedance 2.0 | 2 to 15 s | $0.39 to $0.86 | $0.84 to $1.86 | $2.06 to $4.57 | $4.20 to $9.33 |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast | 2 to 15 s | $0.30 to $0.66 | $0.64 to $1.43 | Not supported | Not supported |
| Seedance 2.0 Mini | 2 to 15 s | $0.19 to $0.42 | $0.41 to $0.91 | Not supported | Not supported |
The low end is for 2 to 4 seconds of input video and the high end for the longest input. When the input includes video, a minimum token charge also applies: if the estimate falls below the minimum for that resolution, aspect ratio and length, you pay the minimum.
Seedance token rates
Behind the examples are token rates, in USD per million tokens for online inference:
| Model | Output resolution | Input without video | Input with video |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5 | 480p and 720p | 10.70 | 6.40 |
| Seedance 2.5 | 1080p | 11.7 | 7.0 |
| Seedance 2.0 | 480p and 720p | 7.0 | 4.3 |
| Seedance 2.0 | 1080p | 7.7 | 4.7 |
| Seedance 2.0 | 4K | 4.0 | 2.4 |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast | 480p and 720p | 5.6 | 3.3 |
| Seedance 2.0 Mini | 480p and 720p | 3.5 | 2.1 |
Older models are priced by audio rather than input type. Seedance 1.5 Pro costs 2.4 per million tokens with audio and 1.2 silent; Seedance 1.0 Pro costs 2.5 and 1.0 Pro Fast costs 1. These three also offer offline (batch) inference at half price: 1.2 and 0.6 for 1.5 Pro, 1.25 for 1.0 Pro and 0.5 for 1.0 Pro Fast. Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 do not support offline inference yet.
How a Seedance price is calculated
BytePlus prices a video as token rate times token use, and estimates token use as (input video seconds + output video seconds) × width × height × frame rate ÷ 1,024. The real charge follows the token count the API returns after each call. Higher resolutions and longer clips cost more, and a clip made with video input costs more than one without.
As a check, our arithmetic (not BytePlus’s) reproduces the 720p Seedance 2.0 example if you assume a 1280×720 frame at 24 frames a second: 1280 × 720 × 24 × 5 ÷ 1,024 = 108,000 tokens, and 108,000 × $7.0 per million = $0.756, which BytePlus rounds to $0.76. BytePlus does not state the Seedance 2.0 frame size or rate on the pricing page, so treat that as an illustration.
Two more rules matter for budgets. You are only charged for successful videos, so a generation blocked by moderation costs nothing. And Seedance 2.5 has a Draft mode billed in two steps: the draft is billed as a 480p video, then the final video is billed at its target resolution.
Seedance resource packs
Instead of paying from your account balance, you can prepay for tokens with Seedance resource packs. Each pack only covers its own model, lasts 90 days from purchase, and cannot be cancelled or refunded.
| Model | Pack sizes and list prices | Minimum purchase |
|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5 | 5M tokens $32; 10M $64; 100M $640 | No minimum listed |
| Seedance 2.0 | 1M tokens $4.3; 10M $43; 100M $430 | At least 7 of the 1M packs |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast | 1M tokens $3.3; 10M $33; 100M $330 | At least 9 of the 1M packs |
| Seedance 2.0 Mini | 10M tokens $21; 14M $29.4; 100M $210 | At least 2 of the 10M packs |
Pack tokens are priced at the with-video-input rate. When you generate without video input, which costs more per token, more pack tokens are deducted: about 1.63 pack tokens per token used for Seedance 2.0 at 480p or 720p, and about 1.67 for Seedance 2.5. Resource packs are used before your balance, the pack that expires first is used first, and anything beyond the packs is billed pay-as-you-go.
The resource pack rules also say the Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 models can be activated once you hold any Seedance resource pack with quota left. By our multiplication, the smallest qualifying purchases are 9 Fast packs at $29.70, 7 Seedance 2.0 packs at $30.10, one Seedance 2.5 pack at $32 or 2 Mini packs at $42. The separate discount page describes a different route for that campaign: keep a BytePlus balance above $30 or buy an AI Savings Plan of $30 or more before activating.
Is Seedance free?
Not as an unlimited free plan. BytePlus gives new ModelArk users a free inference quota for online inference, counted separately for each model, and a Free Tokens Only mode that stops calls when the free quota (described as 500k tokens) runs out. The free quota pages we read do not state the Seedance quota specifically, so check the model list in the console before you count on it.
There was also a temporary discount: enterprise users got 25% off Seedance 2.0 Fast and 60% off Seedance 2.0 Mini on pay-as-you-go usage, at 480p and 720p, from August 7 to October 7, 2026 at 14:00 (UTC+8). That campaign had ended when we checked, so list prices apply.
Seedance inside other apps
If you do not want an API account, several video apps include Seedance and charge in their own credits. Their prices are set by each app, not by BytePlus:
- Invideo AI: on October 22, 2026 its pricing page put a Seedance 2.0 Fast video at about 30 credits and Seedance 2.5 at about 56 credits per 5 seconds at 720p. See invideo AI pricing.
- Higgsfield: sells Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 videos from its credit plans. See Higgsfield AI pricing.
- CapCut: includes Seedance generation in its paid AI credit plans. See CapCut Pro price.
- Runway: lists Seedance 2.5 on its higher plans. See Runway pricing.
The figures on those pages were read on their own check dates, which are shown on each page.
Which Seedance model to pick
- Drafts and social clips: Seedance 2.0 Mini at 720p, about $0.38 for 5 seconds. Fast costs a little more, at $0.60.
- Final 1080p shots: Seedance 2.0 at about $1.87 per 5 seconds, or Seedance 2.5 at about $2.84 if you want the newest model.
- 4K: only Seedance 2.0 lists 4K, at about $3.89 per 5 seconds.
- Steady volume: resource packs are worth it only if you will spend the tokens within 90 days, because unused tokens expire.
- No developer account: use an app subscription instead. Compare them on our AI video pricing tracker.
How we checked Seedance pricing
On October 22, 2026 we downloaded the BytePlus ModelArk Model pricing page (last updated October 19, 2026) and read the video generation section, including the token rate table and the price examples for each Seedance model. We also read the Seedance resource pack rules, the Seedance 2.0 fast and mini discount page and the free inference quota page. All prices are in USD and are BytePlus list prices; the resource pack page says the final price is the one shown at checkout. Per-minute totals, the minimum activation spend and the 108,000-token example are our own arithmetic and are labelled as such. We did not check Dreamina’s consumer app plans or prices in China on Volcano Engine.
